1.What is azelaic powder?
Azelaic acid (also known as azaleaic acid) is a saturated dicarboxylic acid with the chemical formula HOOC(CH2)7COOH. The appearance of azelaic powder is white to slightly yellow monoclinic prisms, needle crystals or powder. It is an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid whose molecular structure consists of six carbon atoms with two carboxyl groups in the middle. Azelaic acid occurs naturally in grains such as wheat, rye and barley. Azelaic acid can be used as a precursor for chemical products such as polymers and plasticizers. It is also an ingredient in topical anti-acne drugs and some hair and skin care agents. It is widely used in industries such as industrial production, cosmetics and medical fields.

2.The pharmacological effects of Azelaic Acid Powder are as follows:
Directly inhibit and kill bacteria on the skin surface and hair follicles, eliminating pathogens;
Competitively inhibits the enzyme process that produces dihydrotestosterone, reducing excess skin oil caused by dihydrotestosterone factors;
Inhibits the production and effects of reactive oxygen free radicals, which is beneficial to anti-inflammatory;

3.Applications in medicine and cosmetics:
A.Due to the excellent characteristics of azelaic powder, it can be used to produce pharmaceutical external ointments and cosmetics. As a topical antibacterial agent, it has inhibitory and killing effects on various aerobic and anaerobic bacteria on the skin. Topical use of 20% azalea acid ointment can significantly reduce the infection of skin bacteria and propionibacterium-like bacteria in the follicles. growth and decrease the free fatty acid content of skin surface lipids. The antibacterial activity and absorption of this product depend on pH. When the pH is low, it has higher antibacterial activity and enters cells faster. It has good antibacterial effects on skin diseases caused by various causes. The characteristic is that more drugs penetrate into abnormal cells than normal cells, and can reversibly inhibit the activity of major enzymes. Like other bactericides and bacteriostatic agents, it inhibits protein synthesis.
B.Azelaic Acid is added to cosmetics to have an anti-keratinizing effect on normal skin and acne-infected skin. Its principle of action is to reduce follicular hyperkeratosis.
C.It also has antiproliferative and anticytotoxic effects, which appear to be through disruption of mitochondrial respiration and cellular DNA synthesis rather than inhibition of tyrosinase activity. a.Chemical raw materials:

Azelaic acid forms a polymer structure of nylon 6,6 through the polycondensation reaction with adipic acid, which has excellent strength and wear resistance.
b.Polyester preparation:
Nonanedioic Acid is also used in the preparation of polyester, a polymer that has a wide range of applications in plastic products, fibers and films. Polyester’s heat resistance and mechanical properties make it an ideal material for many industrial products.
c.Food and drug additives
In the food industry, Rhododenic acid is often used as a sourness regulator to improve the taste of food and maintain acidity. In addition, azelaic acid can also be used as an intermediate for some drugs and participate in the drug synthesis process.
d.Fertilizer production:
Azelaic Acid can also be used to produce some nitrogen fertilizers by reacting with ammonia to form corresponding salts. These compounds are widely used in agriculture as nitrogen sources.
e.Plastic industry:
Polyesters prepared from azelaic acid are widely used in the plastics industry. Polyester materials synthesized from azelaic acid usually have high heat resistance and mechanical properties and are suitable for manufacturing various plastic products.
